01

Send us a message

WhatsApp us and you’ll be guided through a few short questions to confirm you’re eligible and to help us understand your situation before a GP reviews your case.

02

Tell us what's going on

You’ll share your symptoms, medical history, current medications and any allergies. This goes directly to one of our GPs - not a call centre, not a chatbot.

03

A GP reviews your case

One of our doctors reads everything you’ve shared and confirms whether our service is the right fit. They may ask a follow-up question or confirm straight away that we can help.

04

We send a secure payment link

Once your GP confirms we can help, a payment link comes straight to the chat. Simple and secure - no redirects, no faff.

05

Your consultation begins

After payment, you’ll receive a New Patient Registration Form to complete. Your GP continues the conversation and will share a video link in the chat if needed. Photos and short videos are welcome too.

Confidential care, wherever you are

Private & Secure Consultations

We use WhatsApp API for encrypted messaging, ensuring only you and messageGP can read your messages. Meta cannot access your consultations.

Verified Business Account

Unlike standard WhatsApp, our official business account uses a dedicated number, keeping your WhatsApp GP conversations private.

Data Protection & Privacy

Your WhatsApp GP online consults are securely stored on our clinical system, never on personal devices.

More than just a message

Before you book

Screening & triage

Our GPs use WhatsApp to understand your situation before you commit to anything. If we can help, we’ll tell you. If your symptoms are better suited to urgent care or an in-person assessment, we’ll let you know honestly, and point you in the right direction.

During Consultation

Photos & videos welcome

Once your consultation is underway, your GP can receive photos and short videos directly in the chat. Particularly useful for skin conditions, wounds, or rashes - no need to describe it if you can show us.

Post Appointment

Follow-up care

Have a follow-up question after your consultation? Message us. We believe your care shouldn’t end when the conversation does - and direct WhatsApp access to your GP is one of the things that sets messageGP apart.

What our patients say

Great, instant remote GP support

The most friendly and caring service that I have ever received and Dr Arpit was available out of hours. I was able to get a prescription within 30 minutes. Highly recommend and appreciate this service! Thank you

Really great service!

It took 30mins to register, have a consultation and have the antibiotics prescribed and in my hand. A quick online video call which has saved me hours at the doctors. Thank you Dr Amit for looking after me.

If only every other service in healthcare was as good as the experience I had

I had Dr. Arpit call me to enquire more about my condition even before spending any money for a consultation. It was decided that I should rather go see a specialist so he phoned me without even expecting any payment. Rather he was more interested in seeking the best pathway for my condition.

Exceptional Care and Support

Arpit is extremely knowledgable in all medical conditions and has really helped me with my skin problems. He is a very kind and caring professional and I would recommend anyone to see him!

I would use this service over and over again

Arpit has been fantastic. Supportive, helpful, kind and took the time to understand what I needed and gave me realistic advice, explaining it all clearly. He responded quickly to my emails and has just been brilliant. He put me at ease immediately and I have been extremely pleased with the service I have received. I would use this service over and over again.

Incredible service!

Dr. Amit was professional, kind, and extremely helpful. I was able to book a consult on Easter Sunday and he also helped me find a pharmacy that was open, so I was able to get medication on a holiday. I am so grateful I found this service! I highly recommend and will use again myself.

Outstanding service through online sessions

Dr Arpit provided outstanding service through online sessions. He was professional, attentive, and made me feel comfortable even virtually. He took the time to listen and explain everything clearly. I’m very grateful for the excellent care and would highly recommend him.

Absolutely perfect from start to finish!

Your search for excellent, in-depth, efficient, professional and friendly, rapid and personalised online GP service is over! As a healthcare professional and a mother, I can give effusive praise professionally and personally. I will definitely use this service and these GPs again. It's so easy using WhatsApp and video call facilities. They guide you all the way.

Fast, Caring and Effective

Amazing service very fast and efficient with a caring and empathetic approach. Appointment was for my mother who has had pigmentation of her skin post inflammation. Dr Srivastava helped to put us in touch with a great dermatologist and put a plan into place to help my mums healing. Wonderful service!

100% recommend this service!

My husband was bitten by a spider while we were in the UK, and the bite got infected. It was late in the evening, and we couldn’t get hold of a local GP. Luckily, we found Message GP, an online GP service. The service was efficient and excellent — we had a video call, explained the situation, and the provider gave us all the information we needed. My husband received his prescription quickly.

Got Questions?

Got a question? We’ve got the answers. Explore our full FAQs page or send us a WhatsApp. We’re happy to answer any queries you might have.

What is the cost of a WhatsApp consultation?

£49 per message thread. This includes a GP consultation over WhatsApp for 24 hours, private prescriptions if clinically appropriate, referral letters and blood test requests if needed, and a video call at no extra cost if your GP feels it would help. We only ask for payment once we've confirmed the service is safe and appropriate for you.

How quickly will I get a reply?

We aim to connect you with a GP within 4 working hours (9am–9pm), but in practice it's usually much sooner. We'll always let you know if there's any delay.

Can I get a prescription via WhatsApp?

Yes, if it's clinically appropriate. We can issue private prescriptions for a wide range of conditions - and for many straightforward cases, this can be done entirely over WhatsApp. For some conditions, your GP may feel it's safer to have a quick telephone or video call before prescribing, so they can assess you more fully. We'll always be upfront about this if it applies to you. Please note we don't prescribe controlled drugs such as certain sleeping tablets or opioids. Your prescription can be sent to you immediately after your consult to take to a pharmacy of your choice, or in some cases medications can be delivered to your door.

Is the WhatsApp service secure?

Yes. We use WhatsApp Business API - not a personal WhatsApp account. Your messages are end-to-end encrypted and only accessible to the authorised messageGP team. Your consultation data is stored securely on our regulated clinical system, never on personal devices, and is handled in line with UK GDPR.

What conditions can be treated over WhatsApp?

Many common conditions can be safely assessed and managed via WhatsApp - including skin conditions (photos can be shared if requested by your doctor), infections, repeat prescriptions, and general medical advice. If your condition would benefit more from a video call or in-person assessment, we'll advise you honestly during the initial screening.

Will my NHS GP be informed?

Your NHS GP will not routinely hear from us after your consultation, and your consultation with us won't appear on the NHS app. If you'd like us to send a summary letter to your NHS GP, or a copy for your own records, just let us know - we're happy to arrange this.

Can you access my NHS records?

With your permission, yes. If you have the NHS app set up, you can grant us access to your NHS records before or during your consultation. This can be really helpful - it means our GPs have a fuller picture of your medical history, current medications, and any recent test results, without you having to remember every detail. We'll only ever access your records with your explicit consent, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

What if my situation is urgent?

If you have a medical emergency - chest pain, difficulty breathing, suspected stroke, or anything life-threatening - please call 999 or go to A&E immediately. Our service is not suitable for emergencies. For urgent but non-emergency concerns, we'll do our best to respond quickly and advise on next steps.

Is this the same as my regular WhatsApp?

No. While you contact us through your regular WhatsApp app, we operate on WhatsApp API - a separate, secure, professionally managed platform. Think of it as the difference between a consumer messaging app and a regulated clinical communication system. Your messages are handled with the same security standards you'd expect from any CQC-registered healthcare provider.
